Get ready to laugh heaps with stories from down under! This rollicking show dives into everything that makes Oz unique: from kangaroos in the backyard to Vegemite on toast and the joys of Tim Tams. Whether you're an Aussie at heart or an international adventurer, this show promises a fair dinkum good time that'll have you saying \"Strewth!\" and reaching for a cold one.

As a fan of comedy, you’ve likely heard Geoff Tate at some point… but at no point have you heard of him being Australian. That’s because he’s not. Which makes this… weird. Anyway, he’s very funny. Geoff Tate is a nationally touring stand-up comedian known for his sharp writing, clever storytelling, and laid-back delivery that catches audiences off guard with perfectly timed punchlines. Blending personal stories with smart, relatable observations, Geoff’s conversational style has made him a favorite with crowds who enjoy thoughtful, high-quality comedy. He has appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Conan, and Dry Bar Comedy, and his albums and specials have earned millions of streams online. Geoff’s confident, unpretentious voice brings fresh humor to everyday life, relationships, and the odd details most people miss.

Michael Markus is an Australian-born, Portland-based comedian and writer performing across the Pacific Northwest. Known for his clever joke structure and unique delivery, Michael keeps audiences engaged and guessing right up to the punchline. If you like one-liners, don’t worry — he’s got at least two. Michael has opened for David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Jeff Richards. Originally from Sydney, he was a State Finalist in RAW Australia’s national comedy competition and runner-up in One Liner Madness

Jon Bennett is a world-renowned comedic storyteller and 7-time Just For Laughs Award nominee (Montreal, 2011-2017). Known for his ability to blend humour with deeply personal stories, Jon has carved a unique space in the world of comedy, and after 20 years in the business, he’s recognized as one of the most prolific storyteller-comedians touring today.

For their 20th season, PCP is celebrating with a series of Mixtape shows — crowd-sourced setlists of your favorites, reimagined by our lineup of all-star cellists. Featuring fan-submitted songs from the ’80s through the early ’00s grunge, alt-rock, and indie-pop scenes, this show is 100% arranged with love and nostalgia by our own moody musicians. Reminisce with the hits that made your mixtapes and burned CDs so epic, whether you were listening to Prince and Stevie Wonder, Simple Minds and Europe, Ozzy and Metallica, or Radiohead and Soundgarden.

Portland Cello Project is a genre-defying cello ensemble known for reimagining everything from Bach to Beyoncé. Based in Portland, Oregon, the group has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries of classical instrumentation by bringing cello music to rock clubs, concert halls, and festivals across the country.
Since its founding in 2006, PCP has collaborated with an eclectic range of artists and performed bold arrangements of hip-hop, pop, metal, and indie-rock — all through the lens of classical technique and adventurous orchestration. With a rotating cast of phenomenal cellists, the group blends tradition with experimentation to create concerts that feel unexpected and alive.

What happens when a comedian walks into a volcano?

In 2023, Ben Miller was the artist in residence at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, the first ever stand-up comedian ever selected. This was probably a terrible idea on their part.

Come watch this show where scientist turned stand-up comedian Ben Miller explores volcanology, entomology, Hawaiian history, cats, cookies, and more.

Ben Miller is an NYC based scientist turned comedian who has been working for the past 9 years. In that time, he has performed at all the top clubs in the city such as Broadway Comedy Club, Carolines, and The Stand. Ben was once ranked as the top roast battler in NYC. He has a degree in Materials Science and Engineering, worked on a science bus, 3D printed cookies and has defused a few bar fights while on stage. In 2022, Ben Miller’s debut hour, Stand-Up Science, had a completely sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and he now tours internationally.

With the band’s last few albums, they have gained recognition from well beyond the world of bluegrass, earning a reputation as some of the most influential songwriters in Americana today.

Host Drew Wilson-McGrath would like to introduce you to your two new favorite comics: Lynette Manning & Thor Aksdal.

Lynette Manning is a comedian based out of Olympia, Washington, and she is the first female member of the comedy group U Got It Productions. She has carved her place in the Northwest comedy scene with ease, and she has graced stages all across the country. More recently, you might have seen her demolish as the opener for Sam Miller during his special taping last year - right here at the Liberty.

Confident and self-aware, she fearlessly mines her insecurities for laughs, inviting audiences to share in her experiences. Her delivery is so engaging that listeners feel like they're part of the moment, compelled to stop and soak in her humor.

Thor Aksdal is a comedian from Yelm/Lacey/Olympia, WA, or wherever you’d like to assume he’s from. Thor has made a name for himself in the comedy world for being the meaniest bobeaniest bad boy comedianest, thanks to his razor sharp, cutting wit. His sense of humor can only be described as a carefree attitude, wearing a leather jacket. Yes, he’s that cool. Since starting comedy, Thor has performed all over the Pacific Northwest. He is the creator and host of The Good Felon Show at Tacoma Comedy Club where he and other comedians share their triumphs or tri-oofs with the law.

This comic likely doesn't need an introduction, but we've put one together for you anyway. The Cliff Notes? We have the pleasure of bringing a true comedic powerhouse back to Astoria.

Kyle Kinane returns after a wildly successful show in 2023, where the energy was truly palpable in the city before and after the show.

Kyle originally hails from Addison, Illinois. According to Wikipedia, he is a notable person from that town. Other notable residents of Addison have been the boxer Leon Spinks and a woman who wrote poetry about Beanie Babies.
Raised in such a cultural fondue pot as this, it was natural for Kyle to find his way from warehouse work into show business. As a comedian, he has been seen on The Tonight Show, Netflix’s “The Standups,” and 5 of his own hour-length specials . As an actor, he’s been in the Judd Apatow series “Love” and truTV’s “Those Who Can’t.” He was also on “Drunk History,” where he unfortunately wasn’t acting. As a voice over actor, he was the former voice of Comedy Central for 8 years and currently plays Bullet on the Netflix series “Paradise PD.” He is also co-host of the No Accounting for Taste podcast along with Shane Torres. As a musician, he has done nothing, as he is not a musician.

Iron & Wine is the musical project of singer-songwriter Sam Beam. Born and raised in South Carolina, Beam is a former film professor who got his start making home recordings before landing on Sub Pop Records. Iron & Wine’s 2002 debut, The Creek Drank the Cradle garnered both critical and popular acclaim, vaulting Beam into the spotlight of the burgeoning indie-folk/Americana scene as one of its new and leading voices.

For over 20 years, Iron & Wine has captured the emotion and imagination of listeners with distinctly cinematic songs. His recorded output includes seven full-length studio records, collaborations with Calexico, Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), and Jesca Hoop, countless EP’s, singles and compilation/soundtrack appearances, a live concert documentary, and five GRAMMY nominations.

Ken Pomeroy will break your heart. She’ll do it with a single line––sometimes, just one word. The pain begins as an empathetic ache. Then, as Pomeroy sings her stories, you begin to see
yourself in her hurt and hope. And you realize: We’re in this together.

Pomeroy’s outstretched hand to the wounded manifests as startlingly good songs. Her soprano is comforting––almost sweet––but perhaps most powerful delivering a devastating line. A deft guitarist, she opts for beds of rootsy strings that can soothe or haunt. But it’s her writing that really shines and stings.
