OFM SELIG AWARD PRESENTATION

2nd ANNUAL OREGON FILM MUSEUM SELIG AWARD presents AMERICAN TEENAGER by VIOLET CLYNE
Saturday, December 7th, 2024
7:00 PM, General Admission, FREE
Seeking to inspire the next generation of storytellers in Oregon, the Oregon Film Museum and Outside the Frame is proud to present the second annual Selig Award for local young filmmakers.
In partnership with "Outside The Frame", we are excited to award the 2024 Selig Award to Violet Clyne. Clyne has created several films, including In Between, American Teenager and The Spot. American Teenager will be screened at the presentation, followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker.
Clyne, who has lived in Oregon since she was six, has experienced homelessness intermittently throughout her teenage years. She spent some time at the Porchlight homeless youth shelter in Portland before moving to transitional housing. The script for American Teenager, centering on a young girl with an absent mother, draws from her experience.
